Use a aquarium with enough space. The water should be kept in room temperature and being filtered constantly although the movement of the water shouldn't be too strong. It is not recommended to put axolotls and fish in the same aquarium! They will probably attack and damage the sensitive gills of the axolotls. If the fish are too little, the reverse effect may occur (s. feeding).
The best diet for axolotls are live foods, such as tubifex, midge larvae, rain worms, guppys, artemia (for raising juvenile axolotls). Frozen and freeze-dried food can serve as substitute food. Most axolotls eat freeze-dried food in form of pills only when they are really hungry. Don't forget to remove all uneaten food from the aquarium!
